Timothy served in various roles on Parliament Hill for nearly a decade providing political and policy advice to Members of Parliament and Senators on a range of issues, particularly foreign affairs and international trade. He has experience drafting and reviewing legislation and a thorough knowledge of Canada’s multilateral and bilateral trade agreements. While studying law at the University of Ottawa, he spent a summer working at the United Nations Office at Geneva for a member of the International Law Commission. He was also selected for a Dean's Research and Writing Fellowship. As a fellow, he reviewed Canada's legal authority to combat piracy on the high seas for the Legal Bureau of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development.
Timothy is also a graduate of the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University and the University of Prince Edward Island. He is fluently bilingual.
